Turn Notepad Into A Handy Journaling Tool With This Simple Hack

When it comes to writing tools on Windows, Notepad is the most basic and regularly ignored. Apart from the ability to create a plain text file, Notepad lacks many useful features such as rich text formatting, or ability to add links, even after its decades-long existence.
However, despite its 'brutal simplicity', Notepad has a very nifty feature that will turn it into you go-to journaling or log keeping tool by automatically adding the date and time to the file every time you open it. Here is how to do it:
Open a new Notepad file in your PC and type .LOG - all in the capital letter, into the first line.
Now go to File menu and save the file with the name of your choice and close it. Simple!
Reopen the file and you can see the time and date are entered automatically, and all you need to do is start typing in the next line and save the file when you are done.
